It's called the Mosaic Project on 13th st (Omaha) just north of the Bohemian Cafe.
They feed the homless on Monday nights, provide additional education for the local schools, have a small art gallery, and basicly give back to the community a half dozen ways. It's a very nice place with no "self-serving agenda" as so many of these places seem to have.
Yep, that's the place. I've been in the gallery, but not for ages. I really should make another trip to the old market this weekend. That would be a nice place to go. Thanks.
Love this !!! Was this taken in the art distric down by the river in Omaha ??
Have you been to the Tom Mangelsen gallery ??
Its' the one with his signature photo of the salmon leaping into the grizzlys' mouth as a sign
on the front of the gallery.
"I close my eyes, only for a moment, and the moment's gone
All my dreams, pass before my eyes, a curiosity" - Kansas
These are some of the moments when my eyes were open.
You may know me as Ken, or as bons, or even, once upon a time, as bonsai.
But for here, for a little while, I think I'll be someone different.
Interests:
Learning something new each day. I change hobbies like Imelda Marcos changes shoes. Camping and hiking - Science Fiction and Fantasy - Games and Puzzles - Art and Technology: all seem to be central themes but I have no way to predict what I'll be doing 6 months from now. All I know is that I'll be doing it with a vengence until I move onto the next thing.
Favorite Music:
Tom Waits, Red Elvises
Favorite Movies:
Metropolis, Battleship Potemkin, Repo Man
Favorite TV Shows:
FireFly, The Prisioner
Favorite Books:
Snow Crash, Grimjack, Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Girl Genius
[btw, if you can get a programme that flips your photos, you can flip this one so the writing on your camera can be read - always a nice touch]
